Scholarships Council
Information: This scholarship programme, which is overseen
by China Scholarship Council (affiliated to the Chinese Ministry of
Education),
was approved in early 2007. Between 2007 and 2011, CSC will fund 5,000
Chinese university
students annually to study overseas for a Phd degree. The aim of the
programme
is to sponsor first-class Chinese students to study for Phd degrees in
science
and technology fields at first-class universities overseas.
Value: The scholarships cover air fares and living costs for
up to 4 years. The University
of Glasgow has
agreed to
waive tuition fees for CSC students from our partner universities who
meet the
entry requirements and are accepted for PhD study. The following

In providing tuition fee waivers for CSC sponsored students,
University
of Glasgow will
give preference to students
from the following partner universities:
How to Apply:
Applications are received by CSC via the participating
Chinese institutions between 20 February and 20 March every year. At
the time
of applying, applicants must have already received:
an unconditional offer from University of Glasgow
confirmation from the overseas
university of full tuition fee waiver
a recommendation from their own
university (one of the five partners) in China.
